About Our Camp

Rebellious Stables is offering the Summer Horsemanship Program, a summer camp for area youngsters which offers unique opportunities to learn from qualified instructors.

The children’s day consists of approximately one hour to one and half hours of formal horseback riding lessons. Following the ring instruction, the children will have either stable management class or participate in arts and crafts activities. Stable management focuses on horse care, maintenance, grooming, and horse anatomy. Rebellious Stables will utilize the outdoor riding ring. Riders will use the  indoor ring during inclement weather.

At the conclusion of each camp session, there will be a mini horse show for campers to demonstrate their progress for parents and family.

The beginner classes have an instructor to student ratio of one to four. The advanced beginner and intermediate rider classes have an instructor to student ratio of one to five. 

All campers should bring a snack, a water bottle, a towel, labeled riding gear (hat, boots and crop).

New York State Law requires all riders under the age of eighteen to wear a helmet meeting ASTM specification. Each child will be required to have his or her own ASTM-SEI certified equestrian helmet showing the certification sticker inside (no bike helmets), boots with a 1” heel, and jeans or riding pants. All children must also bring water and a snack. Any child not having the appropriate equipment will not be permitted to ride.

Helmets are for sale in the office for $50 (supplies are limited) 

Missed days can be made up with 1- one-hour private lesson within 1 year. 

A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required when signing up.
